Our CQC Rating

At Grey Gables Residential Care we are constantly pushing boundaries to provide the best care for our residents. This year we were rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Our History

Grey Gables Residential Care Home was founded by the late Alderman and Mrs S J Grey, Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham, 1934-36. It was due to the foresight of Alderman and Mrs Grey that Grey Gables came into being. They recognised the need for a home where elderly ladies who, for various reasons, were unable to maintain their own homes, could be cared for. For some years now Grey Gables Residential Care has also welcomed male residents.

Our Aim

Our aim is to encourage our residents to retain their individualities, independence and dignity. Grey Gables Residential Care provides an atmosphere which reflects a home, rather than an institution. Each resident is treated with the utmost respect and we strive to provide an environment in which all of our residents can flourish and enjoy happy, fulfilling lives..

Our Care

At Grey Gables Residential Care we have a range of facilities in order to make sure that life for our residents is as comfortable as possible and in keeping with any routines and activities they may enjoy. Families and friends of our residents are welcome to visit Grey Gables at any time, including mealtimes.

Our Facilities & Services

All residents have a variety of facilities and services at their disposal, and we always respect a resident’s choices, religious preferences, privacy and rights as a member of society.
